In the first Panhellenice Conference of Medical Biochemistry in Athens at 2005, two original projects were presented.

The first one described the anti-platelet activities of thymole, while the second one described the anti-platelet activities of carvacrol.

These two substances decreased the accumulation of platelet by blocking the receptor  GPIIb/IIIa (glycoprotein).

These two substances could be used as prevention of the  thromboembolic diseases.
